I am currently in my 40s and I relate to this article a lot. One thing I've learned over the years is that life is complicated and people change. There is no need to look back and feel sorry because what happened was meant to happen.

Very wise post. Research says that one of the reasons older people tend to be happier than younger people is because they make thoughtful choices about their social connections. BFF is lovely, but we all change, and our friendships often change, too.
