My husband and I met some wonderful new friends when we traveled, especially on cruises. The time spent was immersed in beautiful and idyllic places with amazing food, great conversation. We made some memories!

Back home, we all returned to our household responsibilities, eldercare, jobs, and other people who needed us. We kept in touch with our new "travel friends" on social media when we could, but eventually lost touch. I think this is the natural course of things. I think it's easier to establish a new friendship when you live in the same community, or relatively close, and can get together on a regular basis and get to know people over time, under normal circumstances.

Such a true point, Cindy. Same thing happened to us, countless times. But it WAS nice while it lasted, right?
